Dear Kababayans,

My heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality you accorded to me and the members of my party during my recent visit thereat. Without it my trip should not have been successful. I have visited Sacramento wherein our kababayans thereat, led by their president, Mr. Bernie Caridad and Pepe Tabayoyong, donated one thousand two hundred dollars ($1200) for the construction of a Mayor’s Gate infront of our Municipal Hall. We thank them for their civic-spiritedness to help bring developments in our town. I also dropped by Vallejo and visited relatives. Thank you Manang Fely, Grace, and Emily for your support and hospitality. Your ads placement of one hundred dollars ($100) each, is indeed a manifestation of your strong support to our 2011 Town Fiesta celebration.

I met the LANORCA folks on the evening of the 8th of December 2010 in San Jose wherein a reception dinner was tendered for my party. Prior to the dinner, I was toured around by LANORCA president LORETO QUEVEDO-DIMAANDAL. We visited the cityhall of Mountain View, then the SMART station (Sunnyville Material and Recovery Transfer) to have a look on how they manage waste in the city, afterwhich, we visited the waste water treatment facility in Milpitas. I also paid a courtesy call on Vice Mayor Peter “Primo” Hugh and received a welcome key from him. Loreto, I want you to know that, indeed, the tour is very educational. Surely, we could make use of the idea in our development initiatives for our beloved town LAOAC. Our discussions in the meeting were indeed very fruitful and we are looking forward to seeing you all come to our town fiesta on March 1-7, 2011. Thanks a lot for your initial assistance of two hundred ninety two dollars ($292) which I received personally during the meeting. This will go in our education program of improving educational facilities. Thank you also for your pledge to support our town fiesta by placing ads in our souvenir program, and putting up a candidate for our MRS. LAOAC INTERNATIONAL popularity contest.

I also met with our kababayans, mostly relatives, in the LOS ANGELES area. And I wish to announce that they all placed ads in our souvenir program. Thanks for that strong show of support and I would like also to see you all during the fiesta. By the way, Manang Dina Dolores, a cousin, the daughter of Police Major Melecio Dolores and Ursula Alarcio donated one thousand dollars ($1000) to be gifted to the poorest of the poor in our town. I wish to inform you that we already initiated actions to implement it by listing 110 names of our least fortunate kababayans. We gave them ten (10) kilos of rice and chicks with feeds worth more than four hundred forty-two pesos (Php442.00) each. Thanks a lot Manang Dina for your big heart for the poor. This is where we are now putting much of our funds to help improve the lives of our less fortunate kababayans.

I also met the Laoac Southern California Association during their Christmas party last December 4, 2010 at the beautiful house of Mr. and Mrs. Virgilio Celestino. Thank you for the hospitality. During the meeting, they pledged their support for the fiesta also by placing ads in the souvenir program. In fact, they have already chosen their candidate for Mrs. Laoac in the person of Ms. Edith Tabayoyong. Thank you Mr. President Art Paco for that quick response and strong support to the program. Likewise we expect to see each other during the fiesta.

Of course, I would also like to thank my sisters, bayaws, nieces and nephews in San Diego for their sacrifice in seeing to it that we will enjoy our stay in America. Words are not enough to thank them. You are indeed GREAT and we enjoyed a lot. In fact, the kids do not want to return home anymore. We will see you again soon. We love you much.

Also thanks for some friends, even though not from Laoac, but manifested support for our fiesta. Sam Sabado and Priscillo Corpuz placed ad at one hundred dollars ($100) each, Victor and Alex placed fifty dollar ($50), and the relatives of Mrs. Alarcio placed one hundred dollars ($100) each; Jack and Mrs. Bolado, Albert, Althea, and Jennet. Thanks a lot and we love you.

The following relatives and friends have already paid their placed ads:

  1. Virginia Alarcio Dolores                                    -           $100
  2. Priscilo Corpuz                                                  -           $100

  5. Jack O. Bolado                                                   -           $100
  6. Julio and Luisa Alarcio                                      -           $100
  7. Felix G. Alarcio and Family                               -           $100
  8. Nelson and Grace Cancio and Family               -           $100
  9. Macandria Bailon and Domingo Orteza, Jr.        -         $100

10.  Rene D. Alarcio and Letecia Alarcio                  -             $100

11.  Emilie Alarcio Unoki                                          -              $100

13.  Sonny Piodada and Victor Ablang                       -           $100

Overall, my trip was a success. Though it was a private visit, it produced a lot of good things for Laoac. The whole officialdom and community of Laoac join me and my family in conveying our heartfelt thanks to you all.

Truly yours,

perma

MAYOR SILVERIO “BOYING” D. ALARCIO, JR.
