Funding is limited but the ingenuity and resourceful thinking of Mayor Silverio D. Alarcio, Jr. is not.
With scarce resources, the Municipality of Laoac must come up with projects worth every peso but with results soaring like multimillion structures. The Inmanduyan project proved that applying innovation in using limited LGU funds would result to great projects funded with minute amount.
The said project started on January 16, 2011 and culminated on February 10, 2011. It was funded with Seventy Thousand Pesos (Php70,000.00) only. The bridge is now being enjoyed by the residents especially the schoolchildren from Sitio Alsa Masa. These children will no longer go to school with wet feet and will not have to face the danger of falling in the river when passing a temporary bamboo bridge.
The Inmanduyan bridge would surely benefit the residents of the neighboring sitios in Inmaduyan bringing them closer to the town of Laoac, thus, boosting the town’s economic status. Farmers will have easier and better access in bringing their products to the town’s economic center, the Laoac Market. The bridge, able to carry two tons, can cater to light vehicles while vehicles having more than the required weight can still pass at the side of the bridge slashing through the flowing river.

Same projects are underway which will also benefit barangays Panaga, Turko, Botigue, Sitio Reyes of Inmanduyan, Sitio Paitan in D. Alarcio, Casanestebanan, Calmay, and Cabulalaan. Each project bringing the residents closer to the town.
This project, however, as said by Mayor Boying, is not the main remedy. It is merely a “band-aid” solution to the problem. Mayor Boying is working hard to raise funds so that concrete bridges would rise to the said areas. And with the unity and prayers of all Lawakenians, this dream is close to realization.
It is true that running a government with limited funds is hard. Coming up with projects with very small allotment is harder. However, the bridge project in Inmanduyan proves the quality and capability of a good public servant. Simply ingenius. Kudos to Mayor Boying!
