A Christmas Gift from Across the Sea
Ms. Dereina D. Dolores, a native of Bgy. D. Alarcio, Laoac, Pangasinan extended a generous and kindhearted assistance a thousand miles away from home.
When the Hon. Mayor Silverio D. Alarcio, Jr.CEO VI visited the United States on November 22 to December 15, 2010, Ms. Dolores handed him US$1000 and requested that the amount be used to help the town’s poorest of the poor families.
On January 3, 2011, one hundred ten (110) indigent families from the different barangays of Laoac gathered to receive their presents from Ms. Dolores. They were given ten (10) kilos of rice and an additional five (5) chicks each with 10 kilos feeds to help them start an income-generating project. With proper management and guidance, such project may prosper into a sprawling business.
With dedication and hard work, accompanied by the support of all Lawakenians here and abroad, Mayor Boying’s vision of bringing Laoac to be AT PAR WITH THE BEST is a step away to its realization.
